		<description>Iwan,

I saw some of his documentary of the same title that is running on Channel 4 this past week, and will eventually get around to the book. I just wish he, and the counter-factual approach, had been around when I was studying history.

I&#039;m slightly inundated with great books at the moment, struggling to find time to put up reviews.

		<description>Tim

Just back from Shanghai which is becoming more and more like the set of Blade Runner with ease passing year. I think North Americans would be in a panic if they saw the pace of growth and construction - most of which is centrally controlled.

During the visit I picked a copy of Fergusons, &quot; The Ascent of Money&quot; which provides some interesting perspectives on the impact of fat-tails - and a mis-calculation of their disruptive potential.

I know you&#039;ve cited Ferguson before, and I was wondering whether you&#039;d be reviewing his latest publication as I&#039;m always interested in your perspective.
